This list covers the following Libraries:
Contents This list updates the list issued in January 2005. It covers all law reports and periodicals (including the daily newspapers) currently received by one or more of the five libraries. Also included are some reports that have ceased publication or been cancelled since 1995. However, older reports and periodicals that are no longer taken or that have ceased publication are not included. Digests and indexes of cases otherwise reported are not included, nor are monographic series and legislation. The lists only includes those law reports and periodicals held by the libraries in print format. All the libraries also have access to numerous electronic serials, most notably through subscriptions to LexisNexis (the UK version) and Westlaw UK. In addition, further electronic serials are available through the Lincoln's Inn subscription to HeinOnline, which is an especially good source for American material. The list is arranged alphabetically by title. Where there has been a change of title, entry is by latest title. Holdings are complete where the Library abbreviation stands alone. Further bibliographical details of items in this list and holdings of materials outside the scope of this list may be found on the four Inns' catalogues, which are available at www.innertemplelibrary.org/external.html, www.middletemplelibrary.org.uk, www.lincolnsinnlibrary.org.uk, and www.graysinnlibrary.org.uk. Material not held at any of the libraries The largest law library in London with extensive foreign holdings is at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. All the Inn libraries are able to obtain copies of materials on behalf of barristers from the Institute (otherwise, unless chambers are subscribers in their own right, personal visits may only be made on buying a day ticket). The Institute’s catalogue, which forms part of a joint catalogue of London University research libraries, and also a list of their current serials, are available via their website http://ials.sas.ac.uk/ Sweet & Maxwell’s DocDel service, based at their Yorkshire office (tel: 01422 888000), can provide copies of articles from journals published by many UK publishers.
1. Open to the judiciary only, but material not available at any of the libraries of the Four Inns of Court can be borrowed by one of the four libraries and consulted by barristers. Click here for Current Law Reports and Periodicals
