Admissions Policy: Closed access library. Judiciary and staff of the Royal Courts of Justice, Court Service and Department for Constitutional Affairs.

 

Stock:  Approximately 100,000 volumes, principally English law but some coverage of Commonwealth and EC law.

 

Specialisations:  Transcripts of the Court of Appeal (Civil Division) 1951-. Transcripts of the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) 1963-1989. They may not be copied or removed from the Library.

 

Loans: Judiciary and Court Service / DCA staff only.

 

Distance Services: To High Court Judges on circuit and to other members of the judiciary, usually through regional librarians.

 

Electronic Services: Online catalogue of books in the Department for Constitutional Affairs HQ Library and Law Commission Library in addition to the Supreme Court Library.

Index to Court of Appeal (Civil Division) transcripts 1988 onwards.

CD-Roms and Internet access for Judiciary and Court staff only.
