The Inner Temple Library produced a guide to obtaining transcripts of the proceedings of courts and tribunals in England and Wales in March 2006. It is intended primarily for libraries and information service staff who either need to obtain transcripts for themselves or to provide guidance to enquirers on the appropriate source.

Tribunals established within the last few years are excluded since their decisions are routinely posted on their respective web sites. Similarly what is available via Lexis, Westlaw and other major subscription-based Internet services is not mentioned.

In most cases the service providers included in the guide were consulted directly in order to ensure that the information given about their services is as accurate as possible.
