Freshers’ Events

Members of staff from the libraries of Inner Temple, Lincoln’s Inn and Middle Temple will be attending freshers’ events at the London Bar schools. This is a good opportunity to meet library staff and to ask questions about services. There will be a lucky dip and the chance to take home a variety of library merchandise and gifts from the electronic publishers.

Student Tours

The Library will be hosting tours for BPTC students from Monday 11 September to Friday 22 September 2017 from 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Tours take about 20 minutes; there is no need to book in advance. Just come in and speak to a member of staff at the Enquiry Point.

We are happy to give Library tours at any time throughout the year to students who are unable to visit during the period advertised, but those who take up the offer of a tour in September will also be given £2.50 of free photocopying credit.

Wildy – BIALL Award

Last week three members of the library team attended a very enjoyable and informative BIALL Conference in Manchester where the award for Wildy – BIALL Librarian of the Year 2017 was presented to Margaret Clay, Librarian at the Inner Temple.

Members’ Profiles

We are now producing profiles of some of the Inn’s most prominent and intriguing past members; these can be viewed via the Publications page of the website. These aim to highlight the personal stories and careers of members throughout the Inner Temple’s history, as well as marking some landmark moments for the legal profession. We currently have profiles  of Lord Birkett, Sir Thomas Bromley, Lord Goddard, Seretse Khama and Edward Marshall Hall with more planned soon.

Casetrack

The Casetrack judgments database was closed down at the end of February following a decline in usage. The judgment transcripts previously obtainable via Casetrack are available via ICLR Online, Justis, Lexis and Westlaw.

New Databases

The Library now subscribes to the Bahamas Law Reports and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Reports via Lexis, and to the Cayman Islands Law Reports via Justis. These are all jurisdictions for which the Inner Temple is responsible under the Inn Libraries specialisation scheme.

All of our subscription databases are available for use within the Library only.
