About The Library

The Inner Temple Library is a legal reference library which dates back to 1506. We support the information and research requirements of barrister, student and judicial members of all four Inns of Court. We have a comprehensive collection of English legal materials as well as specialist Scottish and Commonwealth collections, a suite of PCs for legal research via a range of subscription databases, and free Wi-Fi. Our enquiry service can be contacted in person, by telephone or by email; barristers can use our overnight loans scheme; our document supply service is available to all members. We also carry out legal research training for pupils and students.

Other services include the Library Catalogue, AccessToLaw, our legal gateway site, and our hugely popular Current Awareness blog.

The Library on the Inn’s estate closed at Easter 2019 to allow for work on the Project Pegasus building scheme to go ahead. The temporary Library, which is housed on the 5th floor at 10 Fetter Lane, will continue to provide a full range of services to users until the move back to the Inn in 2022.
