PCs & Wi-Fi

All the PCs in the Library provide access to the catalogue, a range of online services and the Internet and have Microsoft Office 2010 installed.

Memory sticks (2GB) are available for purchase. They are priced at £8.00.


All printing from the PCs in the Library is directed to the printer at the Enquiry Point. The charge is 10p per page.


Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Library. The password is on display on the library tables.

Charging sockets for laptops and mobile devices are available on all the library tables.

A variety of USB cables is available from the Enquiry Desk.


To assist those with visual impairments two PCs with large-screen monitors are available.

JAWS screen reading software, which is designed to assist users to access all Windows applications and websites, is installed on both the PCs.

A large-print keyboard is available from the Enquiry Point.

A Merlin video magnifier which can be used to magnify material from the print collections is also available. This has a wide range of adjustable magnification and also has options for changing contrast and colours to suit different requirements.
