Project Pegasus Latest Update

The Inn’s planning application for the redevelopment of the Treasury Building is now available on the City of London Planning Department’s website.

The Inn will be mounting an exhibition of the proposed scheme with visual depictions of the exterior of the building, interior layouts and a new entrance/reception area for the main building. The exhibition will be open from Monday 27 February to Wednesday 1 March between 10am and 4pm in Inner Temple Hall.

The plans allow for the creation of a third and fourth floor to house an educational centre with training rooms, an auditorium and offices to provide for an increasing requirement for education and training facilities within the Inn.

The plans preserve the use of seven of the existing rooms (Rooms A-G) on the main floor of the Library but not the Library Gallery which becomes part of the new third floor. A book storage room in the basement will house some of the material displaced from the Gallery.

Preliminary work on identifying the alternative facilities needed to run the Inn during the construction phase, estimated to start in spring 2019, will be intensified once the planning application is approved. This will include the provision of a temporary library service.

A set of the latest floorplans for Project Pegasus is available at the Library Enquiry Point.

This was an overview of some of the key points to remember when undertaking legal research and concentrated on the main legal subscription databases. We hope that participants found the session useful.
